The Leicester Tigers’ lost their game against Racing 92 at Welford Road but the head coach Matt O’Connor hailed the team. Racing started out very well, scoring 14 points in the opening stage and it proved very vital in the game. Sadly, even when the Tigers started their comeback, they could not match their opponents.
O’Connor was happy that his team was able to battle their way back into the game. He admitted that the 14 points start against “a side as good as Racing” ensured they did not win the game. The coach added that the game conditions meant such a lead would be difficult to catch. (more…)
Leicester Tiger’s European Cup ambitions are dangling by a thread after back to back losses against Munster, whilst the Tigers must focus on the Aviva Premiership if they are to progress into the competition for 2018-19.
The Tigers were better this time than 12 months ago but the consistency was lacking to underpin the quality of players out on the pitch. That is why they are quickly abandonning all title hopes and simply playing for a play-off place by finishing in the top four in the league. (more…)
Leicester Tigers heading into the New Year in ninth place in the Aviva Premiership table with a whole heap of work to take their place in the playoffs. The top-two finish and semi-final looks fanciful in the extreme.
Premiership defeat 30-6 on New Year’s Eve was their fourth consecutive loss on league front and a home clash with London Irish which becomes a must-win affair and a bonus point is listed on high priorities in the play-off frame. (more…)
Joe Cokanasiga kicked to put the London Irish ahead and with two quick succession tries, the score was turned around from Manu Tuilagi’s try – though some comfort can come from Alex Lewington’s kicking, which earned a bonus point.
For Irish, its 12th successive premiership defeat who has not won from the opening season in September. The Exiles’ losing bonus point made Worcester on 11th place and has a nine point advantage. (more…)

Leicester Tigers are ‘very aware of what is at stake’ when they were face to London Irish at Welford Road on Saturday.
In Exeter last weekend lost Aviva Premiership was the sixth consecutive defeat and for 50 years they equaled their worse runs.
On Saturday they equal the worse premiership by five consecutive losses and for the first time since 1975 they lost four games row wise at Welford Road. (more…)
